The LL.M. in Sustainable International Development Law at the University of Washington School of Law is the first U.S. graduate program focused on international development law. This hands-on program equips lawyers with tools to promote social change and a sustainable future by focusing on rule of law, good governance, human rights, poverty alleviation, indigenous rights, corporate responsibility, and global environmental protection. The curriculum combines core courses and electives, opportunities for interdisciplinary study, and experiential learning through field placements and workshops. Graduates are prepared for roles in international organizations, NGOs, government agencies, law firms, and development consultancies.
