The UNC School of Law and Kenan-Flagler Business School jointly offer the J.D./MBA dual degree program, which integrates legal and business education. Students spend at least one full academic year completing the core curriculum in each school, then two years with coursework from both programs. The program requires a minimum of 63 credit hours from Kenan-Flagler for the MBA and 74 from the School of Law for the JD. Cross-credits allow up to 12 elective credits from each program to be counted toward the other degree. Graduates are prepared for careers at the intersection of law and business, often in areas such as corporate law, compliance, finance, consulting, and management. All degree requirements from both schools must be completed before the degrees are awarded.
