The MSc(A) Advanced Nursing, Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) concentration at McGill University's Ingram School of Nursing is a two-year, 48-credit graduate program designed to prepare nurses for advanced practice roles across diverse settings. The curriculum is built on Strengths-Based Nursing and focuses on family intervention, collaborative practice, and optimizing family and patient strengths and resources. Students complete coursework in advanced clinical assessment, interventions, research methods (both quantitative and qualitative), and the study and dissemination of clinically based nursing problems. Two distinct streams are offered: Knowledge Translation (KT) and Research Stream, with required courses in applied statistics, ethics, health equity, and advanced nursing topics. The program cultivates reflective, evidence-informed, and leadership-focused nurses for dynamic health systems.
