The Master of Arts in International Relations (MAIR) at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University, is an interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the public, non-profit, and private sectors addressing global challenges. The program combines rigorous academic coursework in international relations theory, economics, management, program evaluation, and statistics with a required global internship (in Washington, D.C. or abroad) and a capstone seminar. Students select tailored career tracks such as Conflict Resolution, International Development, Security Studies, and others, along with electives across the Maxwell School’s social sciences. The curriculum integrates research and professional skills, supported by internationally-focused centers and partner programs.
