The Master of Science in Bandier Music Business program at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications is a multidisciplinary graduate program launching in Fall 2025. It is designed for those new to the music industry and does not require prior music or business background. The program emphasizes hands-on, industry-facing learning with curriculum covering record labels, music publishing, live entertainment, music law, data analytics, social media promotion, and new technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain. Students spend two semesters at Syracuse University and then a summer and semester at the university's Los Angeles center for further immersion, including internships. Coursework includes music theory, business management, visual communications, and internships with industry partners. The program strongly emphasizes networking (through events like the Rezak Lecture Series) and provides opportunities for global travel and direct interaction with industry leaders. Graduates are equipped for diverse careers in the rapidly evolving music business landscape, from streaming and publishing to artist management and policy.
