The Master of Science in Broadcast and Digital Journalism at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications is a 13-14 month, intensive professional program. Students learn to produce news content for television, radio, and digital platforms under real newsroom deadlines, using industry-standard technology and facilities. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, from the summer boot camp to a capstone experience in Washington, D.C. Students can choose among three tracks: General News, Sports Media & Communications, or Public Affairs Journalism, gaining specialized skills and real-world experience for broadcast and digital news careers. Faculty are experienced professionals, and the curriculum includes courses in writing, newscast production, media law, applied research, and live reporting. No undergraduate journalism background is required.
