The Master of Arts in Christianity and Culture at the Faculty of Theology, Ruprecht Karls University Heidelberg focuses on the origins and current state of Christianity as a cultural phenomenon. The program covers both theoretical and empirical aspects of the relationship between religion and culture, allowing students to deepen their expertise in various areas such as Biblical studies, church history, systematic theology, practical theology, religious studies, and intercultural theology. Students can choose their specializations and must select a minor subject in combination with this Master's. The program prepares graduates for academic research, interreligious dialogue, and professional opportunities related to theology and cultural studies. Instruction is mainly in German, though some English may be used. Students without prior Bachelor’s studies in this exact field may also apply, though proof of relevant source language knowledge (Hebrew, Greek, or Latin) may be required based on specialization. For students from non-EU countries, tuition fees apply.
