The Master of Arts in Environmental Resource Policy at George Washington University’s Trachtenberg School provides a multidisciplinary curriculum integrating theory and practical experience in environmental and sustainability policy. Students are equipped with specialized training in environmental economics, environmental law, public policy analysis, research methods, and environmental science. Electives allow for flexibility with courses available in areas such as biology, chemistry, economics, international affairs, engineering, business administration, and public health. The program prepares graduates for careers in government, nongovernmental organizations, the private sector, and advocacy, focusing on applied analysis and evidence-based policymaking regarding environmental and sustainability issues. Located in Washington, D.C., students benefit from proximity to leading regulatory agencies, think tanks, and advocacy organizations. The school is continually innovating and has introduced new analytical tools and redesigned environmental policy programs to address current real-world challenges in regulation and sustainability. The program can also be combined with a graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems or regulatory policy for added specialization.
