Case Western Reserve University's MA in Art History and Museum Studies offers advanced study in both traditional and contemporary art historical methodologies along with practical museum training. The program leverages strong partnerships with institutions such as the Cleveland Museum of Art and requires completion of coursework in art history methodologies and museum studies, as well as two supervised museum internships. Students engage directly with museum professionals and, through their research, may curate exhibitions or produce publications. The curriculum includes broad coverage of world, ancient, medieval, Renaissance/Baroque, and modern/American art. A reading proficiency in one foreign language (usually French, German, or Italian) is required. Total program credits: 31.
