Stony Brook University's Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering offers rigorous, cross-disciplinary training combining engineering principles with biological and physical sciences. The program emphasizes creativity, teamwork, communication skills, and hands-on laboratory and research experience. Students study core engineering subjects alongside electives from both the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the College of Arts and Sciences. Three specialization tracks are available: Biomechanics and Biomaterials, Bioelectricity and Bioimaging, and Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering. The curriculum is ABET-accredited. High-achieving students can participate in the Honors Program or a combined B.E./M.S. accelerated degree.
