The Master of Engineering in Chemistry and Biotechnology at The University of Tokyo (Faculty of Engineering) is a two-year, research-oriented program that emphasizes innovations at the intersection of chemistry and biotechnology. The program is delivered primarily in English, provides state-of-the-art research training, and offers two tracks: a standard Master's and an integrated MS/PhD program. Research is focused on creating new materials, molecular functions, and interdisciplinary applications in environment, energy, and medicine. The curriculum includes advanced topics like organic synthesis, structures analysis, polymer and functional materials chemistry, as well as molecular biochemistry. Students may apply for entry in either October or April and are encouraged to contact prospective supervisors before application. The program is designed for graduates with a strong background in chemistry, biotechnology, or closely related fields.
