The LLM – Intellectual Property & Technology Law Concentration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Law is designed to prepare students—with or without prior legal training—to excel in their professional legal careers, particularly in the fast-evolving areas of intellectual property and technology law. The program introduces foreign-educated students to the U.S. legal system and offers specialized coursework for all students to deepen expertise in areas such as copyright, trademark, patents, privacy, cybersecurity, and regulation of emerging technologies. Students benefit from an interdisciplinary curriculum, access to significant on-campus technological resources, and opportunities to engage with faculty experts and participate in clinics, workshops, and a dedicated law and technology journal. Graduates pursue careers in top law firms, technology companies, government, and academia.
