Biological Sciences (Biotechnology with Enterprise) at the University of Leeds is an innovative, interdisciplinary undergraduate program combining in-depth scientific education in biotechnology and applied life sciences with business and enterprise training. Students gain theoretical and hands-on practical experience in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, and microbiology, alongside entrepreneurship and business planning. The curriculum emphasizes flexibility, weekly lab classes, research project opportunities, enterprise support, and the option for work placements or study abroad. No prior business knowledge is required. Graduates are prepared for careers in research, biotechnology, innovation, and business, with the chance to convert to an integrated Master's (MBiol) with an extra year of study subject to performance.
