This unique double MSc/MA program is offered jointly by the Department of Media and Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the Centre for Film and Media Studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT). The first year is spent at LSE, in London, focusing on rigorous social scientific and interdisciplinary foundations in media and communications. The second year is at UCT, with a focus on global media from an African perspective. The curriculum integrates theoretical and practical approaches to global media, including research methods, media globalization, and hands-on media work such as internships and creative projects. Upon graduation, students receive an MSc from LSE and an MA from UCT. Graduates pursue careers in communications, journalism, media management, consultancy, policy, and digital and creative industries in both the public and private sectors.
