The MBiol (Hons) Biotechnology is an integrated Masters programme designed for students aiming for a career as a research scientist in biotechnology and allied bioscience fields. The course covers the application of biotechnology to solve real-world problems relating to health, food, environment, and fuel production, and explores how microorganisms can produce therapeutic drugs, antibiotics, biofuels, and more. The program features hands-on research experience in a leading bioscience department, advanced training in research techniques, and the option to spend a year in industry or abroad. Students gain experience in modern laboratories and benefit from instruction by active researchers.
