The MSW program at The Chinese University of Hong Kong aims to equip students with knowledge and skills in developing new creative ventures in social work or social service. It offers a broad-based theoretical foundation, allowing learning from innovative practices for local and global social challenges. The curriculum features core courses such as 'Social Innovation and Innovative Practice for Social Work', 'Social Theories, Social Welfare and Social Work', and 'Programme Evaluation', and allows students to select five elective courses to specialize or broaden their knowledge. The program delivers a challenging and rewarding experience in innovative practice, focusing on critical inquiry and strategy development for social interventions and interdisciplinary collaboration. Note: CUHK also offers a 'Master of Social Science in Social Work (MSSc)', which is the program that provides eligibility for Registered Social Worker (RSW) status in Hong Kong; the MSW is not RSW-qualifying.
