The Honours Bachelor of Arts in Visual Studies at John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, University of Toronto, centers on critical understanding and production of art. The program fosters rigorous investigation into the interdisciplinary dimensions of contemporary art, curatorial practice, critical writing, theory, and visual literacy. Combining studio practice with critical discourse, students engage through lectures, seminars, studio courses, and field trips. The program is designed for flexibility, allowing students to pursue complementary academic interests, and is structured to nurture both creative and scholarly growth within visual culture and related domains. After the first year, students may continue with the Major or opt for Specialist streams in Studio or Critical Practices, suiting aspirations in art making or curatorial/critical work.
