NYU Tandon’s Science and Technology Studies (STS) B.S., housed in the Technology, Culture, and Society department, is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program that examines how science, technology, engineering, and medicine interact with social, political, cultural, and ethical contexts. The curriculum totals 120 credits, including approximately 40 credits in STS, 40 credits in General Education, and 40 credits in Technology/Science coursework, with a senior Capstone Project and options for directed studies, internships, and study away. Students build a coherent Technology/Science elective sequence equivalent to a minor (e.g., biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, applied physics, robotics, nanotechnology, game design), develop research and communication skills, and work closely with faculty mentors. The program emphasizes collaboration across NYU, preparing graduates for roles spanning policy, innovation, and interdisciplinary STEM fields.
